Cascade in a Bamboo forest

Thailand

This is near Umpahng in north western Thailand near the Burmese border. This is an area known for opium growers, Communist insurgents and escaping Karen hill tribe refugees from Myanmar/Burma. It was as peaceful as it looks when we visited, but only two weeks before we arrived, we read in Hong Kong's South China Morning Post, that a Thai military officer was beheaded by grenade tossed into his jeep in the area.

That was 1995.

Good Lord. What a story, and the place looks so serene and unspoilt.
Evil is everywhere, even, seemingly, in a place which looks like Paradise.
Take care, out there.
