GPSMapEastTL.jpg

This map (a free map (USGS?) that I downloaded into my GPS software.

At the bottom of the dark green route, there are two light green routes, the top one is where I came up the Yellow Jacket trail (last year)
The bottom one is where I went down. Full of small trees right now, it would be harder to go that way now. The bottom of the down route is choked with trees as you try to enter the mature woods which is harder than the rest, at least last year.

The top of the dark green route is a split. I went up the ridge for a view(12/01/11), and when I got back I decided I had time to check out the "road?" at the spot marked down. Right now it seems to be an easy way down to above the salmon. I imagine it will fill in with snow later in the year and become as steep in places as the slopes above it.

Just to the east of that is where I came down last year, it appeared to be very simple continue on (except for avalanche danger) to the top of this side creek and connect with my other route and then up to TL. But I turned around here so I can't be absolutely certain.

On the way back I noticed the road seemed to continue back the way I came, but just to the East, so I followed it back, the snow was less sticky as well. It is shown as a small line, it seemed to turn onto the TL road at its end just above the Alpine Camp, where the flag "pic" is. (I think I took a picture of Mt Hood here, but I have not put it online so far). The way I came up might be more fun to do some easy turns in the open when it isn't sticky.

(Last year I also took the yellow jacket trail from the west, and climbed up starting where the trail turns in front of the Salmon., and skied down the rest of the road. I think I have that on GPS as well, but the road is easy enough to follow)

Jct 4 is a road to the right if you are coming from yellowjacket. It goes to the End Rd flag, but I did not do that part until last week and that little part got dropped off.

Road down, was where I saw a lane (steep) and some flagging which will be under snow soon. I haven't been down it.
