Unlike the falcons and accipiters, buteos generally don't show up on Duxbury Beach. However every now and then one does visit for awhile, almost always a Red-tailed Hawk. They often float almost motionless above the Gurnet Cliff facing into the wind remaining 50-100 feet above a fixed spot on the ground, a very cool sight. Today I saw one doing that and then later was surprised to see it sitting on a railing on the lighthouse right outside the prism glass.
