This is the island of Santorini in the Aegean Sea in Greece. Santorini's circular shape was formed by a volcanic eruption about 3600 years ago. I was standing on the main island when I took this shot which shows the opposite part of the caldera, named Therasia. How deep is it? About 400m (1300ft).
from the "texture" of the water, it could well be a mud flat. but then, how would i know, i've never seen one in person. still, how deep is that water? and you were standing on a hill to take this shot? shu
this is nice....Underwater Volcano? Where, it looks like the big blue sea, but is this....well....lol....maybe just where. A strikingly lovely and evocative image though.
