Down here in Georgia an eagle migrates south and stops by here for a couple of weeks near were I work by the Savannah International airport. On Thursday I spotted it far off in a field, I did not have my cam at the time as I was on my way to work so I decided to go on a hunt for it on Saturday. I had my Sigma 100-300mm EX mounted and as I was driving to the area on a two lane road with ditches on both sides, there it was. It was flying low across a narrow section of a retention pond that has a swamp on the far side and a lot of construction going on for a new section of the airport. I did not have time to pull over nor was there any room too. I grab my cam with this huge lens on it (hoping not to hit anything in my vehicle with it), stuck it out the window and took a shot. About 10-20 seconds after that I found a place to pull over and saw that the eagle was flying off into the wooded area. I drove back around and hung out in the area for about an hour but it was nowhere to be found.
But I did get off one shot...
