Brent, most likely it looks that way because it -was- arranged by the historical association... but it's probably not far from the way it looked 50 years ago... maybe a bit neater.

Shirley, I wouldn't be surprized if some of these pots are over 100 years old... the last occupant of the house was 100 when he passed, and the house is much older. This window is near the kitchen sink (w the only running water in the house) When they needed a pantry, they just built it around the window rather than give up wall space. One of those scenes I pass every day on my morning walk, but don't always see (But when I do, I have to stop and really look :)

I love looking in this window! I see things from my youth in there. The nice big flour sifter, the white enameled pots with their red trim, and the cold crock jar. Really fun.
