Target: Near Earth Asteroid 2005 YU55
Imaging Scope: Stellarvue SV66 ED w/WO 0.8x Reducer/flattener @ f/4.6
Mount: Orion Atlas EQ-G (EQMOD)
Imager: QHY9M @ -40C below ambient
Guiding: 2 second guide exposures using a SSAG through a Astro-Tech 8" Imaging Newtonian
Software: acquisition - MaxIm DL 5, post processing - CCDSoft, AstroArt & Adobe Photoshop
Exposure Information: 5 Minutes Total Exposure - L (Red) = 1 x 5 minutes
Comments: Decent transparency and seeing. Near Earth Asteroid 2005 YU55 that has been in the news for passing close to the Earth.
Asteroid was at RA 22h 02m 00s DEC +15 30 at the time of my image.
For those of you unfamiliar with astronomy. The asteroid is the line going through the image.
That is it's movement. Normally, you wouldn't see any movement in such a short exposure.
Exposure from 9:30 till 9:35 Eastern US time. 2:30-2:35 Universal Time.
