The bursting seeds of sorghum at the Central Experimental Farm. Dark-eyed juncos were taking full advantage of these seeds, feeding in big flocks on the many plants, and retreating to tree cover at the Fletcher Wildlife Garden, a few hundred feet away. There are many types of sorghum and it is used as both a human food and as fodder for animals.
