2nd - Low Powered

Cheltenham, Glos.

I hate throwing batteries away now, goodness knows what damage these things are doing as they languish at the bottom of all our land-fills...

So instead, I cultivate them at home - as you can see I have a little ex-battery farm going on here. One of these days I'll collect them all up and dispose of them safely but until then I thought they made a cool PAD

other sizes: small medium original auto

If you could find an Alkaline based life form, they could probably use them for food. (I do this too - but even more dangerously with non functioning Ni-Cads :-)

electric image...the leaking battery shows why they should not go into landfills..just imagine those toxins reaching the local water supply..

I have exactly the same sentiment and "crop"! Nice photo and thoughtfulness.

Oh dear, I think I've bought myself a oneway ticket to hell...... I just throw them out in the trash........
Great capture of your battery farm!

Great macro of your farm Doug. This makes a good case for rechargeable batteries.

Very nice details on the crusty one, most supermarkets have bins for them now to get them sent off responsibly.

The one at the back is worth another try in the remote

Great image Doug on a charged subject. I have five gallon buckets of batteries waiting for the same destination. Our kids, myself included, survive on battery power. All the toys, games, gadgets and 'others' are powered by these little cells. GMV

So that's what electricity looks like.

Eugh - I see the battery gribbles are escaping from that one at the back!

Crusty yet still cool in a AA way. You can recycle them at shops like B&Q.
