Present during late 2010 on the River Teme in Tenbury Wells this bird became somewhat of a local celebrity. For most of its stay it was clearly visible from the main road bridge over the river into the town and large numbers of local people stopped to see it.
As the county boundary splits the river in two, for the vast majority of its say this bird was in Shropshire, however on one occasion it was seen by me in Worcestershire and most photographers of this bird were standing in the latter county when taking their photos.
One could argue all the above is simply to justify posting more shots of this fantastic bird - and that's probably right.
