Time to sort out the CDs - this is quite literally a snapshot of the 100s I have...didn't realise I had so many....

...if I'm feeling really retentive later, I might sort them by name, A-B, 1-9

Now that *would* be sad....

I'm in the process of putting mine onto a Hard Disc Drive so I can listen from my computer, and have a backup in case of disaster (we seem to be having an increasing number of these lately)!

Sounds like a good job for a wet day. It's the cassettes which I have to sort out- and most likely give to a charity shop.

Nooooooo - not the iPod solution - blech blech blech! Get yourself a NAS and a quality streamer - Linn Majik DS or Sneaky DS or something like that - then rip losslessly :o)

that's a big task with such a large collection...I just cluster them by theme...blues, rock, jazz, classical, folk, roots, traditional Irish, modern African..it's often enough to have just a few shelves to look for a playchoice...and a bit of a search can yield fresh alternatives

Get them all loaded onto your ipod at the same time. I know the album cover on the bottom left but I can't think what it is

It's sad to think that these may go the way of the album too.... We also have a few hundred CD's.
