A New Roof for the Village

I drive past the village every day and watch it change with the seasons. Snowdrops and daffodils mark the beginning of spring, roses welcome the summer and Virginia creeper and berries herald the arrival of autumn. The seasons have also taken their toll on the cottages and last winter was particularly hard. Slates had fallen off and there were holes in the roof.
The owners of the village have had the roof repaired and the windows boarded up to make it weatherproof. Unfortunately they do not have any plans to restore it as their main business is a nearby hotel.

Even not restored, these cottages are lovely and have so much character. The new roof means hope that there is a future for them. Well shot image.

I remember your previous shots of these abandoned cottages....is there no hope for them at all? Surely they can't be left to go to complete ruin???

odd that they are not occupied...each cottage seems to offer appealing if somewhat compact digs...well shot on a lovely day..

A classic old building. Funny how some places in the world look like they could be anywhere.
