Where I live, float planes are a continual presence going from lake to lake but my own little stillwater is too small for one to feel at home. Great shot! Your foliage is at about the same stage as ours (mostly gone). As Chris says, the various parallel layers are very eye-appealing.

Nice layers (bands) - water, plane, grass, trees etc

It seems strange there are flowers still blooming and trees that are still wonderfully green yet the wonderful colors have gone, I wonder if we'll have round 2! I'd been trying for 2 years to catch one of these planes taking off on the water (or landing) and every time we'd go down to the lake/seaport I never saw one. I nearly missed this one. The owners daughter was outside the hangers and I said "I never have seen one land or take off" and she said I was in luck, someone was just getting ready to leave. If I haden't seen her standing outside, we would have missed watching this one go. Finally!

I saw these in Alaska but did not have a chance to be in one. Great capture. I see some of your leaves have dropped. In NJ just beginning to change colors and fall of the trees

When there are no roads to hit you hit the water. I have never flown in a plane like this but when I see this picture I suddenly imagine sitting in the back behind the pilot seeing the river coming closer and closer. This is a road I have never traveled but when.I will ever have the chance I will take it.
