Lesser Flamingos

One of the sight we wanted to see at Lake Nakuru was the millions of flamingos and the lake in a shade of pink. We were disappointed to hear from Joseph the flamingo population at Nakuru has dwindled to small pockets and most have migrated to Lake Barringo.
The reason given was the rising water level which affected the algae growth. Without the algae, the flamingos will die.
Joseph told us of another small lake near Naivasha, the Green Lake. He arranged for us to visit the Green Lake (about 10km from Fish Eagle Inn) before heading to Nakuru.
While it was not millions there, there was a healthy population of flamingos.
