We went to South Plaza Island off the east coast of Santa Cruz. To me the real treat was the opportunity to see lots of tropicbirds. These critters are really graceful in flight. We were also able to shoot from a cliff to that we could shoot down in many instances. Having water as the background beats heck out of a cloudy sky. In any case this type of photography is hard to do. I started experimenting with the AI Servo setting with some success. Shooting airplanes is a lot easier because they have a very predictable flight path. Not so with birds.
