My master bedroom budget makeover. The "before" - the colored wall actually had wallpaper on it with tiny blue and green flowers on a white background, but I had taken the wallpaper down already. Other walls were just poorly painted white. You can see the small wood moulding strip at the ceiling, dark wood trim around the windows and there had been smallish wood baseboard already removed. We added the white crown moulding, newer larger white baseboard and painted all the trim in the room white (except for doors.)

I already had the bedding, from which the colors and style were chosen. The lamps, bed frame, nightstands (small dressers), art print, and white hook rack were all pre-owned. I made the window cornices and ordered the 2" blinds online for a reasonable price. The walls were in very bad shape and needed a lot of repair work. Painted the ceiling, walls, trim and emptied and painted closet as well. Replaced electrical recepticals and lightswitch. Got prints made of the family photos and framed and hung them and put together a little flower pot for the chest of drawers.

The bed is a huge kingsize. It was originally (just on a metal bedframe) against the wall opposite where it is now - on the wall with the chest of drawers and family photos. I moved it because it was a pain to walk completely around it to get to the other side of the room for that side of the bed or for the master bath. We also got morning sun in our eyes from both windows when against that wall. I don't normally like to block any windows, but it seems to work for the best here.

I think that's it! Oh...will be adding an area rug as soon as finances allow - probably in a few months.
