Previous to the devils I am showing, there was another unbury in the nearby.. There’re many along the day at different places.
In all there is a pile of rocks, called apacheta, devoted in all northwest to Pachamama, (mother earth).
People offers beverages, food, cigarettes, coca leaves, all kind of things to ask to Pachamama favors during the year: a good crop, a rainy season, a safe trip….
In Carnival, the apacheta hides a figure representing the devil.
It will be unburied for the official opening of carnival and during a week will head all festivity.

Previamente a los diablos que estoy mostrando, hubo otro desentierro en las cercanías.. hay muchos a lo largo del día en diferentes lugares.
En todos una pila de piedras llamada apacheta, dedicada a la pacha mama (madre tierra).
La gente le ofrendan bebidas, comida, cigarrillos, hojas de coca, toda clase de cosas para pedir a la Pachamama favores
a ser realizados durante el año: una buena cosecha, una temporada de fértil lluvia, un viaje seguro..
En Carnaval, la apacheta esconde una figura representando al diablo. Será desenterrado para así comenzar oficialmente el carnaval y durante una semana encabezará la festividad.
