Because STS-114 continued to shed foam from the External Tank (ET) during launch, it was another year before the launch of STS-121 would occur. So, it was almost halfway through my detail at KSC before I would get to see my first Shuttle rollout: STS-121. Note the Payload Canister (rectangular object to the lower right) that arrived at the launch pad before the Shuttle did. Inside the canister is hardware and equipment for the International Space Station (ISS).
