A few Red Knots are interspersed within the mixed flocks of Black-bellied Plovers, Ruddy Turnstones and Dowitchers that are currently found on the bay side south of High Pines. I took this shot to show how much the birds fatten up before their long flight to South America. It seems like this one might have trouble getting off the ground!
