View From Brockway Mountain top

Copper Harbor, Michigan

Please look at this one in original because Pbase seems to be doing something wonky to my photo again. This photo is a little less than 900 pixels on the largest side, so there is no reason for compression.

We were on top of Brockway Mountain and you can see the Lake Superior shoreline for miles. The "mountain" is only 735 above Lake Superior, but when you are there, you are up in the clouds.

A splendid view point and Lake Superior is just one of those USA features that I can not image the scale of. As it's bigger than the sea between France and England.

I love this, Cindy.
A suggestion; I have found if I size the image before posting to
a maximum of 800 pixels and then post it, the detail and colors
seem fine. I think the trouble begins when pbase downsizes it
to the normal Large image size. Just a thought.

Bob, Thanks for looking at it. I am troubled by what Pbase does to the blues. What I see in Photoshop is not what I see in phase on the same calibrated monitor. I just took the raw scan of my film and reprocessed it in Capture One and re-posted. The compression of the blues is not as bad, but it is still there when you look at it in anything but original.

I can't see much, if any difference between large and original.

Nice photo... I'm always heartened to see grand territorial shots of the US with no sign of permanent habitation.
