"Brutus" himself. Admittedly not a great photo, but it does convey some of the frantic wildness of nitro funny car racing four decades ago - especially under the lights. Most of the drivers showed up with minimal help; maybe one or two crew people. They designed, put together, maintained the cars, tuned them and drove them - both on the track and over the long miles to from and between races.
