Our first full day in Quito. We were a little bit pooped because we didn't get to the hotel until almost 1:00 am. But, we sure as hell weren't going to sleep in. I have to tell you that the part of Quito we are staying in looks a little bit thread bare. Lots of people pan handling and selling crap on the streets. We went over to the heritage museum which turned out to be pretty interesting - if you spoke Spanish. Taking pictures of stuff in the streets was quite demoralizing. Anyway, as we were leaving the museum, I spied this cool reflection of clouds in the windows of the museum.
We ended up walking back to the hotel and picking up a bottle of Chilean wine and a couple bottles of Ecuadorian beer, both of which were quite good. We also got some sandwiches at a Spanish deli, which were also good. Ginny was asleep before dark. That is good as well. Actually, all in all a pretty good day. Tomorrow we are of to the Avenue of the Volcanos.
John, should have stuck with street shots, that's where you are, that's what you got.
You can get a shot like this in any city in the world.
Show us non travellers the place as it is, we rely on you to show us the world we are never going to get to.
John
