Excellent composition Margot, but if winter comes can spring be far behind...

a wonderful composition Margot,
and a great reflection on the inevitable seasons
Carl Carbone15-Sep-2011 04:20
Yes, the inevitable, but just think ... in seven short months it will be spring again! :-) I hope you see lots of interesting birds his winter.

Wonderful still life 'transition' composition, Margot!

I can't help but notice the western meadowlark. They have one of my favorite bird songs.

Fabulous image Margot...Interesting shopping list...
Walter Otto Koenig14-Sep-2011 14:34
Well you could always come here, fall and winter are actually the sunniest seasons here. Don't like the look of your shopping list by the way. Nice shot though. :)
David Hobbs14-Sep-2011 07:27
Well two things occur to me. You probably don't have a vitamin D deficiency and the pattern on the table cloth is continuing through your wrist. :o) Interesting image with well controlled exposure.

Looks like winter is near - oh no Margot, first I'm looking forward for fall colours...
Great picture!

Yes I had the same thoughts too today... I am still swimming at outdoor pool until Sunday while indoor pool has it's 2 week cleaning... We are getting sun on some days and not on others...
Frank Brault14-Sep-2011 02:45
The new transition will be to pale. :)

So, you're a lefty. So is one of my sons.
Cindi Smith14-Sep-2011 02:03
And your grocery list!
Cindi Smith14-Sep-2011 02:03
Yeah, I have the same tan line...only tan like I have. LOL! Nothing else sees sun! btw...like your collection of books there.

Winter boots, mittens, ear muffs, stewing beef and bird seed! Where are going? North Pole? To cook for? Norse Gods?
Stay home, get a bird warbling record and keep me posted.
John King14-Sep-2011 00:54
Great concept for the transitions theme. I like that you feed the birds too.
Stephanie13-Sep-2011 22:18
What a great idea for the Challenge Margot! I also had a suntan line where my watch sits when I came home from BC! :)
bill friedlander13-Sep-2011 22:10
Good idea to prepare for the winter now. I would guess you don't have to use snow tires out there.
LynnH13-Sep-2011 22:06
Are you left-handed? I am, but I wear my watch on my right arm and I have a "tan line" like yours. I love the idea here, fading tan is in the cards for us!
Karen Stuebing13-Sep-2011 21:52
And you feed the birds in winter which is wonderful. Love the idea and the resulting photo.
Guest 13-Sep-2011 21:30
Nice image, beautiful colors Margot!!!

Since we are on the road for some times, and on the north side, we lived that a couple of weeks ago, but we never had it so warm, have to constently wash my two summer shirts. Great take on the coming season.
J. Scott Coile13-Sep-2011 21:07
Well prepared.
Janice Dunn13-Sep-2011 20:50
It's funny how we don't notice that we have tanned until we take our watches off. It sort of catches up with us. I just looked at my arm, and I see no difference at all - roll on summer...
Tom LeRoy13-Sep-2011 20:32
Your tan looks nice and Winter is still a while off. Love your magazine on the birds. At least we will see them better without all the leaves. Great composition!V!
