A couple of months ago I posted a photo I took of William & Kate when they visited Ottawa. I mentioned to someone, while we were talking about encounters with the royal family, that my grandfather was host to Prince Phillip at a reception held for His Royal Highness at a historical property in Lennoxville, Quebec on May 20, 1989. My grandfather was mayor of Lennoxville at the time and when he presented Prince Phillip with a plaque commemorating the occasion it was the proudest moment in my grandfather's professional life.
 
I was asked if I had any photos of that event and I realized that I had never actually seen any photos except for the one that was hanging on the wall in my grandmother's house until she died. I asked around the family if anyone had any photos and my uncle recently sent me some. I was in elementary school back in 1989 and for some reason that I will not forgive, my father didn't take me out of school or take the day off to attend this event. So this is the first time I am seeing photos of the event.
