SEPTEMBER 8

Sugar Land TX

Wildfire Sky
There is a big wildfire raging in the next county. Although the fire is 50 miles away, the smoke has been drifting
over Sugar Land for the past few days. Today it was almost unbearable. It stings your eyes and nose and makes you choke.
This photo is from my driveway. The sun was on the way down and the sky was glowing red, like we were on Mars!

I heard about this on the news. It has been a terrible year for Texas. Drought, fire. This is a gorgeous photo even though the conditions that caused it are not good. V.

Yes, heard about the fires on the news and thought of all my Pbase friends in Texas.
Great shot to capture the atmosphere.

This is so beautiful, but I have to say that my perception of it is also tempered by knowing what is happening there. Scary. I really wish you could have a drenching soaking downpour for some days. I have been reading about the fires and it is heartbreaking.

Yeah, have had a lot of red skies here too. I wish they could get them put out and I'm still praying hard for rain for our entire state. Looks like it is all burning up!
