Looks rather leisurely in this shot, but these are our kids -- well, they're young men and young women acting in the service of our nation. Today with the Internet it is much easier to stay in touch when loved ones deploy in far away places. We hear from Matt regularly, most usually via Skype. Iraq is still a dangerous place, and one young man does not make it home due to an accident. Such is the burden of the military, our troops, and their families. That said, Carol & I know that our guys and gals are well trained and prepared to do the job. We also know that is those Marine moms and Army wives who bear a heavier burden than we do as their loved ones are in some even more dangerous and demanding places. Together, the military family gets through these things.
