Waning Sun

West Virginia

Minolta Instant Pro. Close up lens. Polaroid Spectra Image film, expired 2009.

All the apples are falling from the trees. My yard is covered up with them and all kinds of wasps and yellow jackets. And yes, I know that yellow jackets are wasps but in the fall they are so agressive I think they should have a separate designation.

We didn't get a lick of rain from the hurricane. I did say prayers for all who were impacted. My sister lives in Richmond and they had a bad storm but she never lost power. However, most of the East Coast did so stay safe everyone there.

The drought continues here. This is a reflection of the soon to be autumn sun losing its summer intensity already. And fallen apples, withered grass and dead leaves.

For the August challenge - Reflections. Other reflections can be seen here.

Can you stew these apples up? If you were closer I'd have come and picked some to cook up...

The light on the apple is soft and reminiscent of shorter days and the approach of autumn. V

We have the fallen apples and the wasps but plenty of rain to keep everywhere green. This shot is a perfect depiction of Autumn.

Looks similar to here where I live when its April/May, and the same problem minus your awful sounding wasps! Great shot Karen. v

Poor apples, nobody picks them up..just a waist, I´m glad the wasps like them! Great capture- so much for the mood of upcoming fall! V.

The drought is here as well. I love the light in this. A beautiful still life naturally.

It's a super harvest time image. I hope the yellow jackets aren't too much of a pest for you. I don't know anyone who likes them very much. V

Lovely light on the fallen apple. Hopefully there will be lots left on the tree for apple pie.
