I was nearly headed home from botanizing in Cape May when I decided to check birding reports to make sure I wasn't missing anything locally. So glad I did. This bird was spotted on a channel marker where it remained most of the day. I decided to hop on the 6pm Sunset Cruise aboard the Osprey (a pontoon boat and also the boat that spotted it) and it was WELL worth it as the bird was still there! It showed no concern whatsoever as boats sped past it. Seabirds are fascinating to me and it was a thrill of a lifetime to see this beautiful adult Brown Booby in NJ!!!
