Entièrement réalisé de mosaïques, on observe l'ange martyre Saint-Étienne,
tenant dans une main les pierres qui furent les instruments de son supplice, et de l'autre la palme de son martyre.

He is holding in his left hand the stones that killed him,
and in the other hand the palm of his martyrdom which is the symbol of eternal glory.
