This was my introduction to a colony of small but lovely stink bugs living in my backyard. I was out photographing the columbines and realized there was an insect inside! I managed to coax him out to where I could get a good enough look at him. Since then I've discovered many more of these pretty bugs in my backyard, including many mating pairs.
