Denman Island

The Coast Salish people had been in the area for centuries when European settlers, many from the Orkney Islands, first arrived in the 1870s...by 1900 Denman's population had reached 100 people...logging, fishing, and farming were their main activities...this old International Travelall, a two door model from the 1950s, was likely used to carry work crews to their jobs
