Seeing this little meadowhawk, one of the later season species, reminds us that summer is moving inexorably toward autumn.

...and hopefully towards cooler temperatures! How does one go about identifying Autumn Meadowhawk this early? I saw a number of brown meadowhawks today and wonder if they may have been these.
