Looking for the sun

'Unsettled' and 'changeable' are the two words which best describe this summer. We've had a lot of dull, overcast, damp, humid days, with tantalizing breaks in the clouds when the sun shines through., like this afternoon when I was at work. Sure enough, by the time I got home, it was cloudy again. To be honest, I'm beginning to find it depressing. It saps my energy and my inspiration for photography. It's probably a suitable metaphor for the state of the world, but I want sunshine and long bright evenings to make my heart sing.

You found some warmth and inspiration with this pretty photo. I hear you on the weather. Our summer started out that way, and turned to hot and dry. Seems like extremes are the rule. V

The soft light can be so subtle and so soothing. These flowers are so lovely without the harsh glare of the bright sun. But I think the only tolerable weather is weather that changes. One can tire of anything!

This vibrant shot disguises the mood well, though.
Hey, book a flight to Sydney in January. Stay 3 weeks, and I guarantee you'll never want to see another summer again. 8^> (Bring lots of sunscreen, a welding mask for the glare, and a portable fan the size of a DC-3 propeller.)

you made the most of the available brightness.
