The Yörgüç Paşa Camii was built in 1428, on initiative of Yörgüç Paşa, a Beylerbeyi (= ‘Leader of leaders’, this means: regional governor) and vizier of sultan Murat II. It was restored in 1976.
On the picture: Standing in the small hallway, in front of the entrance door.
Left: the building inscription above the door. Right: the arch separating the hallway from the ‘open türbe’; note the powerful decorative effect of alternating white and red marble.
