I hiked up on this high tundra while stationed as a weather observer in the Air Force between 1953-54. We left a rock cairn up in there and waded in one of the cold glacial lakes. I also rowed and fished on Lake Ferguson and stood next to Russell glacier. These are great pictures and bring back memories. I am still a weather observer in the West. Features like Sugarloaf Mtn can be seen to the right of the pale water of Sond- restrom Fjord at left. Black Ridge is just out of sight at left edge of photo.

I worked in that white building from late 1957 to late 1958 It was an FPIS transmitter/receiver site
