Banded hairstreak (Satyrium calanus)

This species is very similar to the Hickory Hairstreak, and at first I thought the white on both sides of the bands indicated this was a hickory, but I had my doubts so consulted with Ross Layberry, one of our butterfly experts, who said it was definitely a banded hairstreak.
