Finally, during the summer of 2011, we undertook a long overdue two week vacation in Newfoundland(NL), Canada .
My wife and I had never ventured as far east in Canada as Newfoundland which joined Canada in 1949, the same year my wife immigrated to Canada. The following nine words describe NL as we saw and found it - BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL; CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN: FRIENDLY, FRIENDLY, FRIENDLY. OK, so sometimes the weather doesn't co-operate. We, however never once had to use our umbrellas and I was able to get many photographs in spite of the fog that seemed to roll in from time to time in the coastal areas where the birds were. We went the B&B route and found the experience to be most pleasing.
It took me a while to sort through my many many photos. As a wildlife photographer, most of my images are of the many animals encountered and observed. I'll start here with posting my first two shots taken at Signal Hill, St John's, where we started our journey across NL. Signal Hill is the place from which Marconi sent the first ever wireless message across the Atlantic.
Top, my very first shot: The firing of the Noon Hour Gun.

Well, I lied, the top image is my second shot - my first shot (bot. image) is of a misfire as you can see. They had to shoot again (probably part of the act and entertainment).
