Brian's Butterfly

Brian saw an ad on TV for a butterfly kit. It came with a "keeper" and 6 caterpillers. The caterpillers were in a plastic container with food and after several days they formed cocoons at the top of the container.

We transferred the cocoons to the keeper and after about a week the butterflys emerged from their cocoons.

As this butterfly clings to the flower, Brian continues to cling to life. Thank you for keeping us in your prayers as Brian's earthly life slowly slips away and begins his eternal life sometime in the very near future.

He has fought bravely for 16 years and I can't express how proud I am that the Lord allowed me to care for him.

Brian got to see the cocoons but never had the chance to see his butterflys.

Today we released them.

Dear Doug, Carol and Sarah, I cannot express how deeply sorry I am for your loss. Brian was such a brave young man that never gave up on his faith...he inspires me to be a better person. He spread the good word and remained strong through very trying times. I feel as if I have got to know your whole family over the years and also grieve the passing of this precious boy. I pray that God comfort you through the tough days ahead. Just know that Brian is free of all his physical pain and will reside with our loving lord! You will all be together again one day! Take care of yourselves and each other. Love Sandy

Doug, my heart and prayers go out to you and your family. This butterfly that Brian never saw is a special and beautiful tribute to the most courageous young man and unlike the butterfly, his soul and memory will live forever.
With my sincerest condolences,
Dick

I am always here. Brian will always walk among us. Your son blessed so many and impacted people all around the world with his strength and bravery. He will always stand out in my list of real life heroes.

Today I release tears. Those tears are a mixture of frustration that Brian could not win the physical battle here on earth but of joy that he has a greater victory and whole body without suffering. I look forward to the future reunion.

I pray for you and all of your family as you deal with this Doug. You are an angel. I suspect God has great things in store for you.

I don't think God could have chosen better parents for Brian. He and the two of you have enriched many people's lives. My love and prayers to you.
