Looking from Fermtoun to Lochnagar

We took a rare opportunity yesterday to visit the Fermtoun at Auchtavan an old farm which had been restored along with the farm house which was a favourite picnic location for the Queen Mother. It rained all the way on the walk up but fortunately stopped for a short while and almost a glimpse of sun broke through before the normal service was resumed.

Oh how I miss Scotland!! Super composition Chris, I love those wisps of misty cloud against the dark flanks of the mountain...superb contrast with the bright heath and forest in the foreground

The hill takes on quite a different appearance from this side, but is still unmistakable. The low cloud in the glen gives a good feeling of Scotland the damp. Worth the walk through the rain.
