Thanks Lawrence and Frank for your kind comments.
Unfortunately the only thing controlling the deer population here is when they become traffic accident victims. On the other hand there really isn't anything controlling the human population. At least pest is an anagram of pets. Thanks -- Bob K.

Often hard to distinguish between pest and pet, threat and threatened. As we humans expand, our animal friends have their habitat diminished...sometimes resulting in a negative impact.
That said, a very nice image, looks beautiful.

This really looks as if it is in 3D.

Hi Shirley,
Yes he is a mule deer and luckily for me I was able to pick up his dropped antlers this spring. He is an interesting fellow that is just a little bit too comfortable with people. Hope all is well with you and that you are enjoying your new E-5.
Thanks -- Bob K.

Hi Endika,
Thanks for the comment. Think of the pest in this manner, no garden can be grown unless inside of a fence high enough to deter the deer from jumping in. No flowers can be grown unless also protected as the flower buds before they bloom are just one of their favorite foods. I can no longer put out feeders for the hummingbirds because the deer rip them down to get at the sugar water. In the fall and winter and into spring the bucks destroy small trees and shrubs with their antler rubbing and practice fighting. Small trees and shrubs are among their favorite foods also and that is not even to mention how much they love roses for not only their buds but also the bushes themselves. And of course when they get too comfortable with people they can also present a physical hazard.
Thanks -- Bob K.

He's lovely. It's fun to see a handsome Mulie (I think that is what he is?) The eyes are so pretty and I olove his black V on his face. I love the pose, he looks like a deer with attitude! :o) Great shot Bob.

Difficult to see that as a pest, but sure it can be! Same near here with iberian wild goats, which must be controlled to avoid that they overpopulate their reservations.
