Pirate spider (Mimetus sp.)

This odd-looking little spider was on the side of my house. It is very small, a few mm in size, but what caught my attention was the "face" on her abdomen! It is a bit spooky, like a Halloween mask. Just to the right of her is an egg sac (not in this photo). These spiders are called 'pirate spiders' because they will take over the egg sacs of other species and make use of them as their own! I suspect, though I don't know for sure, that the egg sac there is not hers!
