This is my "Photo Of The Week" for week ending 30 June 2011.
This male Stonechat had a nest nearby. It was landing every few minutes on this Hawthorn stump. I positioned myself within 10 feet of the stump, behind a wall with a clear shot. I tried to capture the bird, with wings open and legs extended just as he was landing, this one ticked all the boxes.
