Dropping down to the creek, shown here by the holes in the snow, on crossing on a snow bridge, one of which is an actual hiking bridge.
One can also continue to the right climbing gradually to above the broad valley of the Stevens creek, then turn north toward where the Paradise "caves" used to be, melted long ago.
From here one can see the steep drop offs and cornices that divide these two ski routes, too dangerous and difficult for me to cross between, except right here at this junction.
While there are some steep slopes on the right, the average slope of the fall line on or above my route is no more than .4 (on my topo map).
Going this way I usually turn around before the final climb to Pano Pt., the slope is a bit over .50 (or 25 degrees). (Parts of them seem almost vertical to me though, and there are huge cornices on the east edge of Pano Pt which you must climb above).
(The grade up the other side of Pano Pt is .75). None of these areas are shown as high avalanche areas, though I would not go up them during periods of high avalanche danger.
