"Thalassa" - named for and inspired by the Greek goddess of the sea

New Orleans Museum of Art

A lovely, whimsical piece that grew on me as I sat studying it. All the pieces of her clothing depict something of the sea with crabs being the bodice of her dress.
The piece is the work of internationally renowned artist, Swoon.
She is hanging from the 3rd story ceiling of the Great Hall by a piece of wire.

Well Coleen, as a photo, I like the color and we visited the museum in April. I've had the page open for about a half hour and I'm not seeing the love. Is this in the entrance hall?

Fascinating design. I sure love the colors! What a contrast to the more traditional art in the background! V
