Meet Quest, an 8 month old German Shepherd / Golden Labrador cross puppy.
He is being trained by a friend of mine who has been a puppy walker for over 25 + years.
She has even bred puppies for the Royal NZ Foundation for the Blind too.
There are around 240 working guide dogs in New Zealand, all trained by our guide dog services team.
Each year some 100 puppies are placed with volunteer puppy walkers who care for and socialise the puppies for around 12 months.
