non-breeding double crested cormorant

Yesterday morning was misty and foggy along the Rockaway River. I was very startled to see this guy. I've never seen one before. I knew it was some sort of cormorant, but I've never seen one this large and had to look it up when I got home. Unfortunately the lens I had with me only reaches to 200mm, and it was dim light and foggy. This cropped image was the best I could do.
