My wife has been telling me about an old ghost town that her Great Aunt
lived in in Nevada. Well, after 26 years I was finally able to get down
there and take my camera. She had told me about old bottles that were all
around town with all the different colors and weathering etc. So I set out
to try and find some to photograph for her. As it turns out, most all have
been taken by thieves and unscrupulous treasure hunters so I was left with
few opportunities. I remembered seeing some in the window of one old building
so off I went with my camera. Upon approaching the window where the bottles
were, I noticed a rather large snake wrapped around the tops of the bottles.
At first I figured it was a practical joke that some local comedian had come
up with, but closer examination revealed a LIVE King Snake or Gopher Snake.
Not sure if the snake was trying to get warm, or after insects that were
attracted to the window. Snake around a bottle is not exactly what my wife
was hoping for in a photograph! He was a conscientious snake however, he
didn't damage or knock over a single bottle!
