King Charles X´s Wall was built in 1653. It is 4,6 km long and crosses the entire island separating the most southern part. Its purpose was to separate the Kings Farm Ottenby from the rest of the island. Perhaps to keep the deers confined to Ottenby meadow and to keep out the peasents´cattle.
