And up up...to the castle

Vitré - Bretagne (France)

This castle is one of the most beautiful fortresses of Brittany.
Strengthened from the very start of XIe century, it was besieged and taken in XIIe century.
Its owner, Guy XV of Laval, opened it without combat with the French troops of occupation in 1487.
The Parliament of Brittany settled there at the time of the great epidemics of plague in 1564, 1582 and 1583.

When we arrived there we found out it was under restauration
and in its ssquare they were replacing the cobbles,
so it was a bit difficult to take general photos of the magnificent castle.
