The female Osprey frantically searches for her mate. Unfortunately, the male Osprey was found on Sunday following the storms with a broken wing in Pratt's Wayne Woods. The injured bird was taken to Willowbrook Wildlife Center in Glen Ellyn where efforts to save the bird's broken wing were unsuccessful and it was amputated. The fate of any chicks that may be present in the nest is not currently known. This pair had been highly successful in mating and raising chicks these past few years and it has been my honor to be their neighbor. Hopefully she will find a new mate and continue living in the area.
